The Background

Hammond Mill Camp (HMC), a non-profit organization in Dora, MO is a historical Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) campsite. It was the second camp established in the United States, built in November 1933 in the style of military barracks. Men from near and far were able to go to the camp for work to receive an income during the depression. The tasks of the CCC camps were to build roads, dams, and other facilities and repopulate wildlife by planting 8 billion trees throughout the United States.

HMC was eventually shut down in the 1940s before it was purchased from the Missouri Forestry Commission in the 1950s. Over time, the facility had the privilege of seeing 75 years of service ranging from children’s camps to family reunions, and other gatherings.

Because Hammond Mill Camp was an outdated military barracks style camp, the space where the restrooms were going to be installed needed a complete renovation in order to be turned into usable, modern restrooms for heavy foot traffic and camp visitors. Facility Manager Andy Ingalsbe of Dora, Missouri took on the task of planning a total renovation of what is now the men’s and women’s restrooms, replacing the outdated room and arranging and performing the remodel of the work-in-progress that was left previously.

“I started searching the internet for good quality bathroom partitions and came upon Scranton Products®.
